Title: Get a Life

Introduction
Get a Life is an Industrial Theatre workshop that addresses the problems associated with finding balance in life between work, family, and other areas. The workshop makes use of professional actors to demonstrate Self-awareness, as well as practical tips to plan/manage/sustain the balance in your life.

Outcomes
The specific outcomes of this generic production are to…

  • Make employees aware of their current work/life balance and their levels of stress;
  • Create motivation for a balanced and stress-reduced life
  • Contribute to the stress-reduced life by providing hilarious entertainment to have the audience relax and unwind with laughter and delight
  • Create a fun-filled learning experience

The Story
The workshop will consist of short plays or skits that will demonstrate firstly, how life tends to run away with pressures coming from all sides. The needs of family, own needs, work needs, etc. There are also huge stresses place on organisation and individuals due to the current economic situation. Learning to alleviate stress improves performance and this important issue will be addressed by the workshop. This will be followed by practical demonstrations of techniques that can help to manage these pressures. These will include:

  • I am not my work, but so much more!
  • Take charge of my life
  • Actively plan and manage the balance
  • Find the funny
  • Healthy body = healthy mind
  • Treat the ones you love the best

The plays will be interspersed by discussions regarding the audience reactions and the members of the audience will receive an opportunity to create a personalised action plan for their own unique situation.

This workshop is aimed at employees at all levels of organisation and the duration is no more than 1 hour.
