The Learning Theatre leads the way with Promotheatre

Promotheatre is an exciting concept developed and implemented with great success by The Learning Theatre.

In short, Promotheatre consists of short and very short (1-5 minute) playlets that work like TV and film ads. The action is fast and furious and the actors move around from playing area to playing area to reach as many people as possible in as little time as possible.

Playing areas include shopping centres, bank queues, taxi ranks, bus and train stations and any other area where people congregate.

Recently a municipality announced an amnesty for people who had not been paying rates and taxes. They called on The Learning Theatre to help spread the word. Actors were rehearsed and sent to various previously determined sites. They performed on the back of trucks, in shopping centres and at municipal offices. The performances examined the issue of non-payment and highlighted the advantages of making use of the amnesty. At every session there were knowledgeable people from the municipality to answer any questions and to assist rate-payers with problems.

The Learning Theatre was also called upon to highlight the advantages of energy saving. A similar system was followed, but this time taxi ranks all over Gauteng were targeted.

The Group Schemes Division of a large life assurer also called on The Learning Theatre to demonstrate the advantages of their products to various selected audiences, countrywide. Promotheatre was used and the company was amazed at the buy-in they managed to create.

PROMOTHEATRE™ is very effective in promotion because it -

  • appeals to several senses at the same time.
  • simplifies the often complicated buying decision process.
  • ensures a long retention period.
  • accommodates a great variety of personalities, attitudes, needs, and perceptions.
  • is a powerful marketing tool that effects intense emotional impact.
  • educates on cognitive level and influences on emotive level

The eye-catching, high-energy performances stick in people's minds and it is a unique and fun way to promote new ideas and to remind people of messages out there.
