  1. Safety Health and Environment (SHE); Title - Superman goes Nowhere

    Description

    This intervention consists of four short plays with a continuous story line. Short facilitation sessions take place between the plays.

    Two actors – one black, one white – play all the parts, alternating and changing as necessary. The style is high energy making use of humour as well as pathos to create an emotional experience for the audience.

    Objectives

    • Help to develop safe work habits and attitudes.
    • Focus attention on specific causes of accidents.
    • Supplement existing safety training.
    • Give employees an opportunity to participate in accident prevention activities.
    • Provide a channel for communication and co-operation between workers and management.
  2. HIV/AIDS Awareness; Title – Red Knot

    Description

    Two actors play a variety of roles to portray the story of a case of HIV/Aids infection and how the disease affects the families, friends and workplaces of those who are infected. It pays particular attention to living with HIV/Aids, both as an infected person and as a friend or family member. The workshop consists of five short plays that have a high emotional impact and makes use of original music.

    Objectives

    • Create awareness about HIV/Aids
    • Educate employees about HIV/Aids: infection, living with HIV/Aids, and working with others who are infected
    • Give hope to those who live with HIV/Aids
    • Provide a fun-filled, music-filled and unique learning experience
  3. Diversity Management; Title - Birds of a Feather

    Description

    Birds of a Feather deals with Diversity Management in a pro-active way and is designed to be performed to large audiences, making it more cost- and time-effective. This production is unique in its design and uses a combination of theatre, DVD and facilitated interaction to delight and instruct.

    Outcomes

    • Inform and make employees aware of stereotyping, prejudice and derogatory behaviour;
    • Create an awareness of the effects of these behaviours on fellow-employees;
    • Show the absurdity of stereotyping, labelling and derogatory behaviour;
    • Empower the employee by providing practical techniques that can be used to counter derogatory behaviour in the workplace;
    • Provide fun-filled and interactive learning experience; and
    • Provide follow-up interventions to ensure sustainability within the organisation
